None of our readers will need to be told that Christmas is an exceptionally busy time for organists. Hopefully this issue will therefore get you into the spirit with the theme of theatre organs, instruments which offer a panoply of bells! The cover and the pull-out both feature the Wurlitzer which is part of the Thursford Collection in Norfolk – it pleased me to discover this particular instrument had a sleighbells stop, very apt!

Barnaby Page continues along a similar theme by discussing how organists, music and organs are portrayed on the big screen and Donald MacKenzie writes about his Damascene moment.

Finally Peter Dyke and Tom Winpenny both return to write about Dr Barry Rose OBE and to conclude the Malcolm Williamson story respectively.
