Description

This issue came together following the anniversary of Charles Burney: a name that most musicians are aware of. However, some are not so aware of his work as an organist. It didn’t take long then to decide upon a featured instrument: the mostly untouched Thomas Elliot organ at Ashridge House Chapel, Hertfordshire. Lee Burgess has written a brief history of the organ and a critique of its qualities.

To bring this issue back into the 21st century, James Dickenson explains how the church music world works in Norway and David Dewar introduces a programme from Canterbury Christ Church University which aims to help church musicians.
