Description

In this issue we go Dutch. The cover is therefore of St Aloysius in Glasgow, now a place which instantly makes you think of the theme. However, this institution has had installed the Van Den Heuvel instrument from the Royal Academy of Music which was replaced by the Elton John organ. It was inaugurated last year by Martin Baker and it truly looks comfortable in its new home. Hans Fidom writes about a unique area in Amsterdam dedicated to organs: Het OrgelPark. There are five there already and a sixth is being installed. The final ‘themed’ article is a conversation with Ad Wammes who is possibly the best-known contemporary Dutch composer. The review section in this issue is extensive although many refer to Advent or Christmas discs, so buy them early for next year!
