A while ago a kind reader asked if anyone played Rheinberger any more – once a staple on English programmes. This prompted OR to ask the great authority on German Romantic music, Professor Graham Barber, to write an article on this prolific composer. Graham’s essay, among his discussions, includes some important glimpses into Rheinberger’s personal life.
